Sisterhood Update

Dear ladies,

Happy September!!! I hope you have had a lovely summer and enjoyed some gorgeous rest.

I am really looking forward to getting together with you all this term, and we have so much for you to get involved as part of Sisterhood. If you are new to Valley, or have just moved into the area, welcome! Sisterhood is not a group or an event. Simply put, Sisterhood is all the ladies and girls at Valley Church, and in the same way our heavenly father has his arms open towards us, at Sisterhood we want to have our arms open to all the women and girls around, both to each other within Valley and beyond. The heart of Sisterhood is gathering the girls, and encouraging each other to live out all that God has put within us.

Last term, we enjoyed brunches, up and down the country!  We had loads of fun, and you can check out some pictures on our Facebook page.

This term we are hosting ‘Coffee for a Cause’ and we would absolutely love you to be involved.

All you have to do is pick a date, gather the girls in your world, either at home, at work (ask your boss first of course, unless you are the boss!) and do some baking or buy some cakes. We are standing together with our friends in A21 who are involved in the battle to abolish modern day slavery and human trafficking. We are doing this by using a similar model to the McMillan Coffee mornings and all the info is on our website.  You can register for an info pack online.

Events have just started being hosted and more info will come out to you via your Service Pastors and Connect Group leaders.  However we don’t just want to leave it to a few, we really want to encourage all the girls to have a go if you can! It’s really easy and the pack will have everything you need including info about A21, how to register for the Walk for Freedom (see below), posters and donation tins.

The Walk For Freedom itself is happening for the first time this year in Preston City Centre as part of 600 global Walks, on 14th October to bring awareness to this horrific crime and we are also currently talking to the local Police to find out what is happening in our area so we can be relevant to the local need as well as the global need. You can register for the Walk online.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

With love,
Ps Michele x
