Hey there Ribble Valley!
What a great day we had in church yesterday… God was on the move and we were given a lot to think about.
Ps Richard Scholes reassured us that no matter how insignificant we might think our contribution in life is, Jesus can always take our insignificance and make it hugely SIGNIFICANT!
Then, last night, Ps Ed reminded us that the mission Jesus has sent us on is ALREADY WON! The deal is done and he gave us three reasons why…
1) God’s asked us to do it… God won’t ask you to do something that can’t be achieved with Him. In our own power then we always fall short, but with Jesus, ALL things are possible!
Jesus never said ‘would you like to be?’, but He did say ‘You WILL be’ witnesses. (Acts 1:8)
2) It’s easy to do… Reaching the lost and the broken is much easier than we make out! The message is simple – God is close, and accessible. The method is simple – JUST TALK ABOUT IT!
So often it just comes down to putting people above the tasks of life (Luke 10:38)
3) It’s done in community… The local church together can collectively achieve far more than any other organisation in the world… Why? Because Jesus is at the centre.
We have a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on! Go for it! (Heb 11:1)
Why not ask yourself the question “What little do I have that I can entrust to God to make it significant?”
