“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (KJV) is what the Bible says about vision. And on Sunday Pastor Ed shared the vision for 2014. In one sense, the vision hasn’t changed. Our church exists to “Empower a New Generation”, based on the mandate of Ps 78 to “tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of The Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”
Valley Church exists to empower the new generation of people who don’t know Christ to become all that God has called them to be. We are a baton-passing church and are looking forward to passing that generational baton on for generations to come.
There is a sense though, in which each year, the vision gets fleshed out for the coming season. Here are the three videos from Vision Sunday 2014 in which Pastor Ed lays out the plans for our “Year of Next Steps”, where we intend to take corporate, relational and individual next steps in order to truly empower a new generation.
