Welcome to Sisterhood
My prayer, hope and passion is to see the women of every generation at Valley find their home not just as part of Valley but also as part of the Sisterhood of Christ followers.
I invite you, to be part of this movement, this family and this journey. As Sisterhood, we are girls who gather, we gather over coffee, at a conference or a service. We gather around each other, we gather around prayer, we gather around need, local or global. We gather around a cause – the cause of Jesus Christ.
At Valley Sisterhood we are right in the middle of our series ‘Digging Deep and Rising Up’, the theme for this year. It’s a theme that God clearly gave me, as I like you and the rest of our nation woke last spring to news of ‘Brexit’ . The theme comes from a verse in Nehemiah 2:18, where God told the people of a broken nation to ‘rise up and build’. I don’t believe we are a broken nation, but I do believe today God is challenging us and is calling us, his girls, once again to rise up and build and set our hands to this good work.
So on June 29th we continue the theme with our next event ‘Rising Up’.
Circumstances around us are continually changing, we have good days and bad days, times where life goes along without a care in the world and other times where it feels like we are in a constant battle. We can all rise up on a good day, but what does it take to rise up on a tough day? Jesus himself rose up every day, He went through good days and bad days. If we are to rise up and build we need to do it on not only the good days but also on the bad days.
I am really looking forward to sharing with you from God’s Word how we can do this well and rise up wherever we are. The Bible is full of hope and life and if you lean in, I know there will be something God wants to say to you; to bring hope, courage and life, to help you change your situation and build a better future.
We have a fantastic evening planned and are going to be hearing some great ‘Sisterhood Stories’ from incredible girls rising up in different spheres of life. We will be eating delicious food, enjoying great fun and creative moments and as always one lovely lady will be surprised in our ‘Blessed to Be’ moment by a beautiful gift we have planned. Who knows… it could be you!
Come along and you will also be spoiled by our handsome men who look after us so well. So don’t let anything get in the way and stop you joining us, get organised today! Book your babysitter, get the night off work… and we will save you a place at the table.
P.S. We have already looked at digging deep into God, and going from darkness to light (living the season we are in right now well and not always wishing for a different season.) If you want to hear the messages you can order them through the Info Point on Sundays at any of our locations.
